Our family has enjoyed this unique property, now known as Longbow Resort, since the mid 1960s. As a young boy, I found the property’s creeks and boulder-strewn canyons an intriguing environment to both admire and explore. Many of our guests have expressed the same sentiment.

My father, the late Ben Pearson Sr., loved the Arkansas Ozarks. In 1966, when he first discovered this property, especially the future Longbow cabin and waterfall area, he was immediately drawn to its beauty and wasted no time in purchasing the acreage where the Longbow cabin resides today. His desire was two-fold: to develop a cattle and horse ranch and build a family getaway cabin with a view of the falls. Dad hired an architect friend to develop plans and construction was set to begin, but he made a sudden change in plans. Instead of utilizing the plans drawn by his friend, Dad sketched his own cabin plan for his crew to follow. The result was a cabin melding into the sheer rock and wooded landscape, making the Longbow cabin truly “one with nature.”

Our goal with Longbow Resort is to continue my father’s “one with nature” concept. The architectural elements of each cabin were designed with this in mind. The Bushmaster cabin rises above a small stream and is cradled by large boulders. The curved Bois d’Arc cabin cuts off the point of a narrow ridge. The Sovereign cabin drapes over a natural bluff and boulders, which are incorporated into the cabin’s unique interior design. All are attempts to accomplish this natural objective.

This private Ozark resort offers secluded, rustic, and distinct lodging for our guests in a natural setting. Longbow Resort is an ideal getaway for honeymooners, couples, and small families with an appreciation of the outdoors and the peace, quiet, and solitude it can provide.

We hope you decide to become our guest … To experience the distinct architecture of our cabins in natural settings, observe the magnificent Ozark terrain and wildlife, and enjoy an escape to this special place.

The Pearson family thanks you for your interest in Longbow Resort and we look forward to your visit.

Sincerely,

Ben Pearson, Jr.
